Q: How do I join the Pay Protect Community?
Simply fill in the short form above or ask your tradesperson/company that is carrying out your work to Create a Pay Protect Account using the link on the Tradespeople page and follow the simple instructions.
Q: What happens if I’m not happy with the work that has been carried out?
Any issues can be sent to Pay Protect within 72 hours of the work being completed. The funds will be held in the holding account until they have been satisfactorily resolved under the Pay Protect T&C’s.
Q: How long does it take to get a refund if the job is cancelled?
Once the job cancellation has been confirmed Pay Protect will securely transfer the refund back to the consumer within 72 hours.
Q: Does Pay Protect have insurance cover for my property or work?
No. We do not offer insurance. We simply protect your payment.
Q: What type of Jobs and Industries does Pay Protect Cover?
We cover all construction, building projects and most Tradespeople.
Q: What if the Tradesperson takes my deposit but never starts the work?
This simply can’t be done. All money is held in the Pay Protect Holding Account until the payment is authorised by the customer under the Pay Protect T&C’s.
Q: What should I do if a tradesperson asks me to pay a deposit in cash?
If you prefer to deal with paying cash and the risks associated with that, then Pay Protect isn’t the platform for you.
Q: What should we do if a tradesperson goes over budget?
We recommend any additional work or alterations is authorised through Pay Protect following the normal process. This way the whole job is protected under the Pay Protect umbrella.
Q: What is the fee for using the Pay Protect trusted platform?
There are no hidden fees. The only fee is 2.5% +vat for the tradesperson to pay.
